An empty, dark, hollow road waits silently—either for someone to crash along the way or for something tragic to unfold. Someone might die, and only then will the rest come to notice.
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Dinesh was driving home from a hoedown. Around 1:00 AM, he saw the mutilated corpse of a man lying on the road.
In that eerie moment, he abruptly messaged Sreekar, a night patrolman. Within moments, Dinesh received a call from the station house confirming that immediate backup was en route to the location.
Bastar, a town in Chhattisgarh, is known to be highly suspicious in police records. Jai, a local shop owner who knows nearly everyone, was approached by Rajeev. Rajeev spoke about a gruesome incident that occurred near his house the previous night. Jai admitted that he had heard similar accounts from others in the village.
“We need to inform Inspector Ravi Shanker immediately,” Raj said.
"But who the hell are they?"
In the past 48 hours, several complaints of missing persons or murders had been reported.
Mr. Ravi Shanker Shukla responded,
Raj: "It happened around 9:43 PM."
Shukla: "What exactly happened?"
Raj: "I heard a visitor was allowed inside the house."
Shukla: "A visitor?"
Raj: "Someone who was believed to be one of his dead ancestors."
Jai: "What?"
Shukla: "That sounds bizarre. But for years, Bastar has been known for its strange religious practices—especially involving beliefs in reincarnation and ancestral summoning."
Jai: "So, what should we do, sir?"
Later that night, the clock ticked towards 10:29 PM.
Somewhere in the town…
Knock knock, "Open the door."
A 79-year-old man stood outside a house.
“Damn it, answer the phone!” Dinesh muttered as he called Shukla.
Outside, on a lawn chair, Shukla sat with his legs stretched out, swatting at bugs and watching the narrow road. Moments later, he realized the town was being invaded—by the dead ancestors.
In a panic, he rushed inside and shut the door. When he finally answered the call, Dinesh explained the bizarre, nocturnal events.
Elsewhere, the ancestral invaders trudged back into their former homes—to kill their own families.
Locals believed that welcoming the dead would cleanse their sins. But within hours, many were mutilated—following the same deadly fate.
That same night, shopkeeper Jai and his entire family were killed in their home.
Raj found a hidden escape route built by his father—but soon, his family too was slaughtered.
Inspector Shukla was stabbed—by his own forefather.
As Dinesh and his friend Sreekar entered the town, they found it bloodless. Silent.
Everyone was gone.
The End.
